Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I have to register and login?

young man using a laptop

There are 3 reasons why you have to register and login. Firstly, because that way we can save all the work that you have done. That means that every time you come back and login you can start topics exactly where you finished them last time. This also means that all of your answers are saved so that you do not have to think of new ones every time!

Secondly, if you have any technology problems we can work out who you are and help you! You might want to reset a topic or maybe you have lost 1 of your answers. If you have a login we can hopefully figure out the answers and help you better.

Thirdly, we want to know who you are! By knowing who is using Become a Leader Online we can judge whether it is successful. We can also work on making it best for the people that are using it. This is called customising, and can be very useful!

I am supporting somebody to use Become a Leader Online. Do you have any tips?

Well done for supporting somebody to use this website. As you would know, thinking about leadership and dealing with change can be tricky, so some people might just need your support to help them. The best thing to do is communicate with the person you are supporting about it.

We suggest that you do the course yourself first so that you can understand the way it works. Also don't forget that there is a forum where upcoming leaders can get help and learn from others. You can encourage and support the person to use this if they are having trouble or just need some ideas.

Do I have to do all the topics?

Yes, to finish the course and become a leader you have to complete all of the topics. The topics also have to be done in the order that is on your home page.

However there is no time limit on the course. You can take as much or as little time as you like. You can take breaks between topics or even questions. It's all up to you!

What if I forget my username or password?

Your login details are your username and password. Your username is 'firstnamelastname ie. bobgreen' and your password is the answer to a question that you have chosen. If you forget these do not worry! There are 2 options. You can click the 'Forgot my password' button and you will be sent an email that will explain what to do. Or you can call My Choice Matters on 1800 144 653 and we can tell you your username and password. It's that easy!

I tried to create a booklet after I finished a topic and it looks strange...HELP?!

a man sitting at a computer looking confused

After you finish a topic you can create a booklet with all of your answers in them. If you use the 'create a scene' option the booklet can sometimes look a little bit odd! Unfortunately this is just computers for you. There is not much we can do to improve the appearance, especially as everybody is using different computers with different versions of different web browsers. But let us know if it is a problem and we will try to help the best we can.

I finished a topic but I didn't get a certificate...why?

If a topic isn't creating a certificate for you then it probably is not finished! Open the topic back up and make sure you have answered every question. Make sure that you have set yourself at least one task at the end. Once you have the certificate button should appear under that topic on your home page.
